Basic WordPad
Taught by Bud Johnson

A word processor is a software program that is used to help you create letters and documents. There are many word processors on the market, but WordPad is (1) already on your computer because it is included with Windows, and (2) it is basic and, therefore, easy to learn. The commercial programs available for you to purchase are more involved and have more bells and whistles but, at the same time, may be more complicated to learn.

WordPad is a word processing software program that has many of the features of the commercial and relatively expensive programs available. However, once you learn the basics of word processing on this program, jumping to one of the more sophisticated programs should be easier than starting from scratch with that program.

In this class we will cover how to write a letter, move, add, or delete words, whole sentences, and/or even paragraphs. Correcting errors couldn’t be easier. Don’t even think about a regular typewriter ever again.
