Genealogy

The Genealogy Interest Group meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Lodge at 10:00 a.m. The meeting is open to everyone and we invite you to join us and participate in the rewarding search for your family history.

Our Roundtable is for everyone  from beginners to “old hands” who discuss their problems and experiences.  This informal give-and-take offers hints and help at all levels.

 Following the Roundtable, there is a presentation on various subjects ranging from Organizing Your Records, Census, Courthouse papers, etc.  These topics pinpoint areas and explanations to assist in searching for family links.

The third portion of the meeting is devoted to using the Internet under the guiding hand of Leigh Cowing, an accomplished genealogist.   The Internet is especially valuable in finding the names of past generations and their locations.
