Timber Pines Computer Club, Inc.

Welcome to the Club

If you are a computer user, we invite you to join the Timber Pines Computer Club. Since the club has members whose levels of expertise range from novices to nerds, we think that you will probably find someone in the club whose skills and interests are compatible with yours. You will certainly find that we are all friendly and willing to offer help and encouragement in your endeavors.

Our regular meeting is held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Oak Room at the Lodge. We usually start with a computer clinic at 9:00 A.M. After a coffee break, the meeting is called to order at 10:15 and our guest speaker is introduced at approximately 10:30.

Classes are held every Tuesday (except for the 2nd Tuesday) and Friday of the month at 9:00 A.M. Some of these classes are basic in nature in keeping with the requests of our members, many of whom are new to the computer, but we also provide more advanced classes for experienced users. Our emphasis is on Windows programs. Lecture notes for all classes are offered for club members on this website. These notes may be downloaded and printed before attending a class to make it easier to follow along with the instructor.

Discussion Groups are also available for those especially interested in Genealogy, Digital Imaging, and for those using MacIntosh computers. The Discussion Groups meet in the Oak Room, except for MacIntosh, which meets in the library. Schedules for all meetings, classes and Discussion Groups can be found on Community's TV Channel 95 as well as here on this website. Schedules are also posted on the Lodge Bulletin Board.

New members are assessed a $6.00 initial fee, and a $10.00 annual fee for each household. As a club member, you are entitled to attend classes and to access the "Members Only" area of this website. The "Members Only" area is where you can download class notes, and also the club’s informative, monthly newsletter "CompuTimber".

As a club member, you are also entitled to use Timberpines.net as your internet provider.  Find out more by clicking Timberpines.net on the Main Index page, or ask one of our officers for information.

We hope you will join our club, come to the meetings and try our classes. Please feel free to introduce yourself to other members and to the members of the Board, so that we may welcome you personally. DON'T HESITATE TO ASK FOR HELP IF NEEDED. We are committed to giving assistance to other members. If the person you contact cannot help with your problem, he will recommend someone who can.

WELCOME!!
